    March Flounder!

A mild winter rewarded me with a early spring trip to shake off the winter blues. Setting out to look for the first stripers of the year was uneventful but with a fellow kayaker we managed to hook up with 4 flounder, 3 of which were keeper sized if the season was open. Not bad for March in OC NJ. Also tested out the new sea sucker rod holder which to my surprise was rock solid and looks to be a viable option for the folks concerned with drillings holes in their ski. Here is a couple of pictures.

Thats a good sign. Last year was just plain brutal with throw backs. Just wait till the end of summer there is going to be some real beauties. Do you know what the water temp was?

Water temp was 57 in the back and clean. Didn't see much in the way of bait fish but there were plenty of calico crabs stealing our frozen bait intended for stripers.

Sea Sucker mount is nice but soooo expensive. I think I am about to get two actually.

I know that set of suckers, plus handle, plus rod holder was $150.00. But it can go on my next ski in a minute. Custom pipes cost a few dollars as well.
