87, 89 pt 93 Octane fuel?
Ok, is there anybody else out there besides me tempted to start using 89 or 87 octane fuel? I've always used premium but uh....gas prices are getting RIDICULOUS!!!!!!
Is it absolutely necessary to use 93????

It all depends on what your ski calls for stock, and what mods if any you have made. I keep my Polaris motors mostly stock just for this reason. They run on 87 as long as they aren't modified. Check your manufacturers specs to be sure though.

umm................ what do you mean you should use premium?
since i got my ski, ive ONLY filled it up with 87 (regular)
and it gave me no problems...
although when i visit by a marina and have to fuel up, they only usually have plus (89) or premium only (91).
My boat (same engine as a jetski)
never gave me any problems and its only seen 89 for 2 years, and only last summer and this summer will it only see 87..
Now.. You wont get "215"hp or 255-260 like it says on the sticker, but... who cares?
if you are going for speed (mods) you would want to use premium to get higher speeds..
But if your ski is stock, i dont see the problem with 87..
MAYBE youll end up loosing 1mph ( doubt it though)..
Hope i helped.

Premium (93) for the 06RXP and (87) regular for the 96XP

If you ski calls for a certain octane fuel thats what NEEDS to be run in it...........

Lower octane will actually make more power if you don't have any knock going on. You will be fine with 87 but you probably should run at least 89. Here our premium is 90 but we are at 3200-4000 ft elevation

They "recommend" 91, and the "minimum" is 87 for both my rxp and 180 challenger...
Either way.. my water crafts seem to like 87'th octane... and so does my wallet
