Have you done a compression check? Who did the rebuild? Do you know why was it rebuilt? Have the carbs been rebuilt?

Yes that is very slow for a GP1200...60-62 mph MINIMUM is what a stock model should run...comp. test, check carbs and fuel lines, check impeller to see if it is damaged...but something is wrong. Wavedude is right, need to find out who did the rebuild and why...

I have the same issue with my 2000 GPR, it has a rebuilt top end and I am only hitting 54mph. I am suspecting my impeller. Did you GPS yours?

I would do a compression check on the engine. Could be several things. e.g; compression, wear ring, worn impeller, fuel delivery, exhaust restriction, power valve problem....

I thought Yamahas don't have a replaceable wear ring like Sea-Doos? Instead the whole pump needs to be replaced?

Is that speed based on a radar gun or gps? The stock speedo can not be relied upon for comparisons.

They have a wear ring - take a looks at Rivas parts diagrams. The stock wear ring can be replaced/machined with a wear ring that has a replaceable liner also.

yeah i tested the speeed by gps . i ended up taking the jet ski back to the dealer because the carbs ended up getting messed up and the middle and last cylinder where gone. they had built my engine wrong am going to test drive it again to see if it improved. the rebuilt was done by miamijetskishop they are about the worst dealer in miami.
