my first top end rebuild got some ?'s

On my 99 gp800 I had a ring failure so I had to order a complete top end my ques is my friend recommended using lubriplate 105 assembly lube on everything including the cylinder walls instead of tcw does this sound like a better idea especially considering it will prob sit a week or so before I fire it up.also what's a better 2stroke oil to use I have been using yamalube 2w but that stuff seems to make a real mess any suggestions on a cleaner burning oil

I can't comment on Lubriplate 105, because I never tried it. I used 2 stroke oil to lube up everything when I assembled mine.
As for good quality 2 stroke oil, there are several good brands out there. FWIW, I use Amsoil HP Injector.

Engines don't run with lubriplate. Use a good two stroke oil to assemble with. Before starting remove spark plugs and shoot some oil in and rotate engine.
