    Painting handlepar pad?

Is it possible to paint the handlebar pad? Mine have a lot of green mold/mildew from having sat outside by the previous owners, and I'd love to paint them black.

Is it possible? OR will it just flake off and look horrible? I was thinking maybe krylon fusion for plastic?

You can BryanP painted his and it turned out nice. I think it was the krylon fusion fabric and upholstrey.

I used the plasti-cote spray on mine from Home Depot and it turned out really nice. Few bubbles on the bottom a few years later, but still looks great.

I used the Duplicolor vinyl and fabric. It wont work with this paint if the original color coating is gone though. The plastidip might be a better choice on a badly damaged pad. Use the duplicolor only to restore a good pad. It doesnt fill in if the original coating is gone.

I had a pad with the OEM vinyl gone on much of it with the foam exposed. I used Plati-Dip spray with multiple coats. The spray gradually filled in the exposed foam and it nearly looked brand new when I was done.

Thats probably the better choice if there is exposed foam. If you have no exposed foam, the vinyl and fabric offers a few more color choices.

Yeah, that's the kicker with Plast-Dip. I think red, white, and black are the only stock colors available on the shelf. But, as I was just searching for the colors I came across this: http://www.plastidip.com/blog/2011/0...th-plasti-dip/. It seems you can mix your own color, dilute it in solvent, then use an aerosol sprayer. So, that adds one more option. I think you'd have to be very careful and mix in precise amounts (and record those) to have any chance of reproducing that exact color for touchups or multiple coats.
