    1000 hours !! now what ??

Last week or so i posted a picture of my friend and his 02 gtx 4tech with 993 hours under the general discussion , and this weekend finally he hit 999.9 and we all took pictures and opened acouple of drinks and had a good time and after riding further he realized that his hour guage is stuck on 999.9 and it won't turn over to 000.1 , so now what ??? he likes to track his hours for maintanance and bragging so i guess he's gona have to take it in for service . i wonder what they gona do ?? can it be reset ? or do they give him a new ecu ?? well i guess we will find out soon ,he is going in on tuesday

Sweeet! Dang, that's a lot of riding. Based on my current 97 hours, I figure we'll put about 150 hours on ours per year. Wonder what the current record number of hours is for a 4TEC?

the gauge cluster can't read any higher than 999.9... but the ECU will keep track of the hours... you can rack up 2578 hours, the gauge will still say 999.9... but when you connected the ski to the dealer computer and run it on BUDS the "engine hours" on the ECU will read true

a new ECU will just reset him to zero.. and that's gonna cost him some money for a new ECU ...

Makes me wonder... can I take hours off my ski by backing up?... and does the "reverse gate" mod affect this?...
