    Stg 1 & exhaust results...

Well, after my "stg 1" install and the PPG powerpipe, we went out for a ride with some friends on saturday 1/13. I had some high hopes for this since I was running good numbers already. Water conditions weren't ideal for testing. Choppy and swamped with boat wakes. Found a couple "smooth" patches. however, to my disappointment i haven't seen anything higher than 71, which I already had with just holes filled and skegs...not to mention I can't control the porpoising at all anymore. You can just feel her wanting to go faster but with the porpoising I just don't get the chance.

BUT...the holeshot is a handful! I was so excited to just try it that I totally ignored the VTS, which was all the way up and LAUNCHED myself...lol

but I did run into Jim, you know Jims performance (ff rideplate for yamis). well, he lead me to some nice water and we ran a couple times. me being totally green, as far as drag racing, lost miserably...haha.

    can't wait for the REs!

    Sean... you will love them

I've installed them on two of my friend's RXPs and the results were the same... NO MORE PORPOISE! That alone will lead to achieving and sustaining your top speed.

I'm anxious to get them on my "couch" so I can maintain speed without moving forward and back on the seat in an attempt to quell the dreaded porpoise

Jeff , I have to say that I never experienced "porpoising" with my GTX but of course I had the standard opas block-offs almost from day 1. I`m awaiting the RE`s also!!!!!...PR...

Andy... I thought our 131" couches were going to be exempt from the "wrath of the porpoise" also... until you reach 73+

Then I found myself shifting weight fore and aft trying to calm it down

    Bring on the RE's!

I totally forgot that your ski can go that fast ... That`s got to be a weird feeling at those speeds , I don`t think I`ll get mine past 62 this year...PR...

I feel very fortunate to have a hull that has been smooth as silk from 68.8 stock to now over 82... Never porpois's ever!

It just goes to show you how much hulls vary.

the question i always wanted to ask is, with the riva extentions or the RE'S dosent it create more drag on the water, wich results actually in loss of speed?

    Dave,
It is important in my opinion to silicone the edges to the hull and all the way around. I think as long as this is done, there is no slowdown whatsoever. My first ride with the RE's I had no silicone, and although it didn't feel slower, my riding buddy said I had water shooting out the sides.
