    Question about Trim Motors

Ok so I need a trim motor and trim rod for my 1998 SLXH and it seems impossible to find without spending an arm and a leg. I can get a Polaris SL or SLX Trim motor all day long for a decent price. It seems mine was an odd ball. It doesnt have a mechanical trim indicator. Its all electronic on the steering wheel. So heres my question. Are all of the trim motors interchangable or not? I know that the Polaris PRO models have a 5.9 RPM trim motor and the non pro models have a 3.0 RPM trim motor. Can I just buy a cheap trim motor assembly from another Polaris for it and this thing work or is there a difference in motor shaft size, bolt holes, etc etc?

Yes it will fit. They are all physically the same. The fast motor is just twice as fast as the slow one.

If I remember correctly, the trim indicator cable passed through the aluminum base,if the one you bought has the cable-you can remove it-but be sure to plug the hole.

you could just cu the cable off and silicone the end up where you cut it or remove it all the way and silicone up the hole

I will end up using my trim motor base if I can. I need a trim rod though. My SLXH never had a trim rod so I went to home depot and got a piece of allthread to screw into the stainless eyelet attached to the trim motor that never worked. When I pulled the allthread out the other day it was bent from flexing and rusted up, so that's not going to work. I need the real thing. The trim motor I got has a trim rod but its for the smaller pumps. Part # is different too.
