    Waveraider 1100 engine swapped into a gp1200 hull? Info needed

    can anyone who has done this tell me how the ski will ride after the 1100 engine in swapped in,how much difference are we talking?
    as far as the swap some info on what parts need to be changed over would be great.

    i have a mint 1999 gp1200 65u with a blown cracked case engine and i have a 1996 waveraider 1100 that looks like shit is beat to shit but has a brand new engine and rebuilt carbs with under 30 hours and i really am thinking of swapping the 1100 motor into the gp.

    any info would really help me out.

    need to know if i have to swap all the electrics also or just the engine itself? and do i have to swap pump or impeller to match the 1100 engine

    1100 would need all bolt ons inc electrical box carbs etc.What I would do is turn the 1100 engine into a 1200 and use the 1200 carbs and ignition.

    can you explain how to turn the 1100 into a 1200 with just carb and ignition?

    ok also the gp1200 had a rod snap and take out the case and trash a piston so the engine itself is no good at all. would love info on what to do for this swap as far as what parts to setup with the 1100 engine

    I think you'd have to bore the 1100 out to 84mm pistons to make it a 1200. I think the 1100 and 1200 share the same 68 mm stroke (but I'm not 100% sure).

    Converting engine from 1100 to 1200.

    Crank cases are the same but 1100 needs 2 more pulse lines added for the carbs.1100 uses 1 1200 uses 3.
    You will need to install 1200 pistons on the 1100 rods.Then use 1200 cylinders and head.
    You now have a 1200 engine.
    Use with 1200 ignition and carbs.
    1100 cylinders could get bored to 84 mm (stock 1200 bore size) but theres more meat in the 1200 cylinders so they are better.

    ok now i got it,cant do it tho,like i said the pistons and cylinders from the 1200 are shot so thats not an option,just want to know what must be used from the waveraider to go into the gp1200

    Your could use 1100 engine in the 1200 with all the 1200 electrical parts and carbs.You would need to add 2 pulse lines for the carbs.You could go with bigger pistons and cylinders later.1200 flywheel is diferent than the 1100 so you would put that on the 1100 engine.You could use the 1100 carbs but the 1200 carbs are better.
    If your scared to add pulse lines you could run the 11000 carbs but pulse lines are easy to install.

    flying do you think its really worth the extra power to break down and buy a set of 1200 pistons and cylinder and make this a 1200? how do you think the 1100 will do in the gp1200 hull just the way it is?
