need some good advice in order to make a decision

i need to know the good and bad between the 1300 pv and 1300 non pv.which one can we get more power in overall? more top end speed? been modified equally.
i have the option in choosing either one and need to make up my mind.

I would pick the non-pv cause one less thing to worry about ie: p/v dropping into the cylinder.

Well some of the good points for both is with a PV motor , as the valve opens your torque and accel is stronger through the whole RPM range especially with the valves fully opened at WOT...with a NON PV motor,R&D performance products did a ECU reflash for it which it advanced the timing, improved the fuel curve especially in that 5000-6000k ranged and bumped the rev limiter to 7700 rpms..the reflash was worth the $s (450)...also the non PV 05-08 had the 155mm HO pump...

With knowing the potential issues with PV's, I believe a PV engine would be capable of the same top end power, with a bonus of better low end performance and also better economy, not a small consideration in riding time per tank of expensive gas.

i will let you know Dave, once i install my 4 degree key way,and tune the efi. do you know if the price on the reflash have drop since everyone pretty much is going 4 stroke?450 is kind of high.

Power valves for sure. Better hit, more potential. Most of the fastest single pipe ski's where power valves. Again, not all, but most.

well Mike,if you put a keyway to advance timing you won't really need the reflash...the R&D reflash is a 3* advance from spark to TDC..you feel it believe me..But like Ronn said the PVs will give you an all around faster stronger ski...
