    1200 carb question

    I've read many threads on 1200 carbs and have seen many that talk about disabling the accelerator pump. I've got my exhaust off right now for a new midshaft, is this something I should do?... I'd like to use the existing nozzles for a primer... Let me know what you all think.. 1999 1200xltd.... Thanks

    Yes, but you have to re jet the carburetors.

    I'm planning to leave the choke plates in.. I would need to rejet due to removing the accel pump?

    If you don't rejet you will have a big bog off the line. However, if you want to add a primer and keep the chokes, and keep the accell pump, pm me. I am working a how-to about drilling the boss on the side of the carb for a 10/32 x 1/8" nipple for a primer. I have done this on 4 boats and it works great.

    He neglects to mention those 4 boats all exploded like they were loaded with C4 and detonated via cell phone trigger..jk Dad

    Alright, I guess I will leave the accel pump and put a primer in...thanks for the info and insight!
