PC625 AGM terminals extend above top of battery

I bought this battery in honor of K447.
What do you guys modify to avoid frying the E-Box strapped across the top of this AGM Battery? Shorten the terminals? Make a spacer?

What ski are you putting it in? On the MSX and the Virage the e-box doesn't sit on the battery. Get a piece of rubber sheeting from Autozone, Ace or some place if you don't have the plastic piece that goes on top of the battery.

    Hey Danno,
Its going on a 96 SL780. The three ski's that I have had/still have are all Fuji's.On all of them the E-Box sits directly on top of the battery. Im not sure if i'm missing a "Plastic Piece" that you speak of? None of these three ski's had it when I bought them.
On a regular battery there is a bunch of clearance above the terminals.
    thanks,
    Dave

I just put the cables on with the boots and the plastic cover, and strap it down.

There should be a plastic cover on the battery between it and the E box to prevent shorting. Unfortunately alot of people remove or lose them and rely on the rubber cable boots to protect the aluminum box from shorting out.

It's just a simple piece of molded plastic that slips over the battery.

I'd see if John Zigler has anyfor sale, or you can make one yourself.

We have a strong suspicion that it the most common cause for the ground wire melt down on most Fujis.

    Thanks Guys,
I just looked at the PDF, there is a plastic part missing from all three ski's! I think I will trim the terminal down to below the level of the battery top to try to "Idiot Proof" from Myself. The terminals extend about 1/8" above the top of the battery at present.

    Dohhh!!

    Thanks Xlint,
I already took an AGM made by Johnson Controls (Walmart) back to the store because of the terminal issue. So I figured enough with the cheap batterys, I will by the PC625, Same issue.
I spoke with Zigler last night and the cover did not come up in our conversation. I will see what he has at his shop.

This is why Im a member of the Hulk!

So are you saying your odyssey PC625 terminals extend past the top??? I have one and mine does not. Just wanted to clarify if you were talking about the walmart AGM or the actuall PC 625. Either way, you need the plasic cover installed. Cheers.

odyssey PC625 terminals extend past the top???
Exactly, But they are Shorter now.
The Walmart AGM has the square lead terminals and cannot be trimmed so easily, I cut the PC625 Brass/Bronze terminals lower than the top.
