2002 Polaris Virage TXI, Will not Start- Please Help

I have checked over & trouble-shot what feels like everything, & now need help. The ski quit working last summer was running ruff before that. Initially changed the TPS sensor, since it was running ruff & thought that might of been the cause. Then I found this Website and started reading through the forums so I don't just keep throwing parts at the thing. Checked the Start/Stop module seems fine, Took the EEM out took the top & bottom plates off looked it over nothing looks cooked. After that I pulled the pump out of the gas tank & did find that the regulator had fallen OFF, reattached and also secured it better so that hopefully doesn't happen again. Hooked power to the pump while it was out seemed to pump ok. I put it all back together and tried to start it cranks but won't run. I then checked all the injectors they are firing fuel. Next i put a pressure gauge on the return line and have NO FUEL PRESSURE checked to conector on the fuel pump cleaned the pins for better connection but still no pressure. I know now that its a fuel issue. If I pour a little bit of fuel into the intake it will run until it burns off.

Is there anyone that has had the same problem or someone/specialist that can give me some addivce on this matter that I'm dealing with. Any input will be helpful. Thank you for taking the time to read over my issue.

Welcome to the Hulk! Nice to see you did some reading on your ski. If you haven't done so, check this out http://polarispwcknowledge.shorturl.com/ and find out even more info pertaining to your ski. Page courtesy of K447. Does the fuel pump run if you ground the Brown wire at the fuel pump connector?

That is how the EMM turns the fuel pump on.

The EMM only turns the fuel pump on if the EMM senses that the engine is rotating (not the Start button being pressed), and the EMM itself has 12 volt power.

This could be the issue so I would ground the brown wire and see if it starts and runs and you have proper fuel pressure. Cheers.

Have you tried to put power directly to the fuel pump to make sure it actually works? I had a pump fail in one of my Virages last summer. Drove me crazy until I realized that even with direct power the pump would not turn on. Swapped a spare in and it cranked right up.

Bgaidan I hooked the pump up to a power source and worked just fine. I will try to ground that brown wire but do I do it before the connector or after the connector?

Groud the brown wire anywhere along along that circuit. Make sure the 15 Amp fuse or circuit breaker is not tripped. Sorry, didnt think of that earlier. Cheers.

    EMM. Send it to DFI.

Is there anything else that I can do before I send the EMM out to DFI or is that what you think the problem is for sure? What is DFI and where do I find the address to send it out? Will they test it for free then call me with the problem before they go ahead and fix it? I'm not trying to drop a ton of money into this ski if I don't have to. Thanks for all the good advice so far. Hope we can get to the bottom of this problem soon!!

www.dfitechnologies.com If there is nothing wrong with it, they will only charge you to ship it back. If its bad, it will run you around $600 to have it fixed. Note: The big connector on the EMM is held on by a screw in the center, dont try to pry it off or you will break it and have to change the harness. If all your breakers a fuses are good other than that send the EMM in and get it checked. As for other test, you could check the crank position sensor loacted on the front center of the engine. You should get 200 OHM's or less. If its jacked up the EMM would may not know the engine is rotating to trigger the fuel pump grounding on the brown wire. If it checks good, I would send the EMM in. LOTS of info on the link I posted in my previous post about testing etc. I would do some reading so you understand a bit more about your ski and how it works. Let us know what you get. Cheers.

Verify that you're not getting spark and maybe do the LR (start-stop module) bypass just to be sure, but more likely than not it's the EMM. DFI will test it and send it back if it checks out. It'll only cost you the shipping.
