    Resurrecting a 95 XP 800

Ok fellas. My buddy found a pristine 95 XP that had been mothballed in a shop and not ridden in at least 7 years. I am going to be tearing into this next weekend. I plan on doing a complete over haul on this ol girl. What is different on the parts list engine/pump/computer wise vs. the 96XP?

The pump and drive shaft is longer i think. Not sure about the other stuff. Sound think a great project.

Those first rave valves should be replaced for the slotted ones. It was the first year for DESS, but programming it was the responsibility of the dealer until the next year. Many times it went undone and any DESS key will work. That's seen as an advantage these days.

    Long pump
Double seal/nettle bearing hull seal on output shaft
    Waterbox shape and baffeling
    no speedo
    single pod hood w/trim gauge
    'hump" seat
    Cylinders, different port map
Cases not drilled and tapped for adding oil for CB shaft
Case porting different (I've been told, but, I couldn't tell)
Crankshaft/ CB shaft gear set more coarse
    PTO/Crankshaft threads more coarse
ignition module, different timing curve, not programmable, will not work with M/T rev limiters (some models did, some didn't)
Carburetors, different jetting, carb. bodies had only 1 transition port
    non-linear oil pump cable linkage
Water Box Pressure regulator made of Billet SS (instead of plastic)
Deeper "in your face" yellow and hot pink gelcoat

in regards to the Crankshaft and the PTO. are they still available or do I have to go to a 96XP version?
I really hope that the computer isnt fried but if it is can the 96 or later mpem work?
carb rebuild kits the same as the 96 or later XP?
