    FZR ECU Question

Does anyone know if the ECU keeps track of the hours of a ski, and if so are these the hours that the display shows or does the display track the hours separate?

I don't know if the computer logs hours, but I do know the gauges hold the hours.

The ECU tracks the hours it has been run in a ski(any ski). The gauge cluster tracks the entire hours the ski has been run regardless of what ECU is in there.

That is the answer to your question. But, if all this is leading to re-flashing your ECU in the future there is more to it depending on which companies flash you use.

ECU hours are alway more than whats on the dash. In time , when ever you turn the ski off the ECU is still alive.

I wanted to make sure that if I swapped ECUs with someone that had a flashed ECU with more hours that it wouldn't show his hours on the display of my 15 hours ski!

It won't show his ECU hours on your gauge display. Your display will still show 15 hours.

If you use his ECU for 2 hours then put yours back in. Your gauge display will now show 17 hours. But, your ECU will show 15 hours if hooked up to yamaha YDIS.
