MPEM issues...... looking for someone with experience XP DI

Does anyone have any experience here searching your machine for the reason why the MPEM is frying?

I just blew my second one last year and I believe I have it tracked down but I am looking for some advise.

Most of the ones that die are due to people jump starting the ski.

there is also a known diode failure, that if your willing to slice it open, is fixable.

Did you check your chargin system? if the voltage regulator isn't working may over charge the system and blow the mpem. The second one that you buy was an OEM? How are the grounds?

Grounds, as far as I can tell after a year of testing are good. I did have a bad regulator that I replaced with one of the converted 4 tec bullet proof regulator. I may of had that failure from the regulator. I also went through extensive testing with my can doo and I am now getting a tps mag side sensor fault. I have a gtx di and swapped the mpem out on that machine and had the same faults. (the gtx was running perfectly) This new MPEM was a oem MPEM.

Do you know where this diode failure is located on the mpem? I do have it apart from the plastic housing but as you know the entire thing is urethane.

The first thing I was going to try is digging out behind the #3 plug to get to the mag tps connections. That is where my faults are coming from.

If you have another DI why not try and switch the entire throttle body ? That way you can eliminate if the fault is coming from the mpem.

Covered that base when I switched the mpem to my gtx. Got the same results with that mpem on the gtx.
