What story does compression tell?
Hello everyone 2003 xlt1200 checked compression after 20 hrs on rebuild and it is 120 across the board...I know from reading here that is pretty good but also wondering if there is any other checks to make on engine...plugs look good...season very close here...thanks

check everything is tight, check all water hoses, check plug chops, make sure you check compression after its been run for a true reading.
check its filled with fuel and ride that mofo
low comp - bad ring seal
high comp = good ring seal

well. the compression can tell many stories, for example. it can make you a very happy guy one day,and in the contrary ,it can make you miserable the next one,and that's the day you want to burn the ski or kill you wife.lol. hope that does not happen to you.

if you still running your oil injection, check it out very good ,specially the line on the third cylinder.

Thanks to everyone for all of your help over the past couple of years I learned a lot...I sold my 03 XLT 1200 this weekend because I got the price I wanted, it was a great ski to learn on so now the decision will be to either stay out of the sport for a bit (not likely) I miss it already and it has only been 9 hrs or start looking at a 4 stroke...
Will be on 4 stroke section now...I think it is just the natural progression....
