    785 pro carb set up

What size needle valve assemblies do the 785 carbs have?

I know that most of the racer go with this for the lows and highs jets,
    122.5 for the lows
    135/130/135 for the highs

I just wanted to double check mine,

    Trick question.

The factory carbs I'm pretty sure use 2.o needles and seats.

But the reason I say trick question is, it's not just the size of the needles, but what the actual pop off pressure is. Mikuni manual suggests you use the smallest needle possible to achieve the desired pop off pressure you seek. Different needle sizes along with different spring rates will give you varying pop off pressures.

The Mikuni manual lists approxiamte pressures with the different spring rates towards the back of the manual.

Now, if you're using aftermarket carbs, then you need to follow their suggestions.

Hot Seat suggests a 2.3 needle and an 80 gram spring for the 785.

You can always shoot polaris racer166 a PM and see what he runs his 785's at.

OK, those are his jets, but you were asking about needles/seats and pop off pressure.

    I don't see those listed.

The factory jetting for the Pro is 155/150/155 mains with 105 Pilots and 15-18psi pop off pressure. I'm not sure what the factory N/S is but here is my config:

    142.5 mains/115 Pilots/2.3 NS
    20psi pop off pressure
