fx 140 ( oil around throttle bodys question )
im trying to help a buddy out who just bought a fx 140 and i know nothing about this engine.
he changed the oil on it and fired it up and it had a puddle of oil behind the left TB as you can see in the pics, he wiped it all dry started up for another minute and more oil puddled in the same spot, is this normal?

Maybe he has too much oil in the engine??.....You can only check the oil level when this engine is HOT...It should be about half way between the low and high marks on the dipstick when the engine is HOT

It will be overfilled......as said above, check when engine is hot......midway between marks is fine. The breather comes up from the seperator, into the airbox.......a very small amount of oil there is normal, but that looks like too much.

That's overfilled for sure! I'd start with taking 1/2 quart out before even checking it! Way too much!
Dave is correct!

Yeah... when my '08 FX140 is cold the oil barely touches the dipstick.
