No but give them a few years and they will split... My boat is an '05 and I need to replace all three, I've been wondering what they are there for too.

It is a bit wide for a wake board.
I tried mine and even tried the knee board.
I had heard someone say that people strap boards to them but what I don't know is how are they fastened in?
Also, I have been trying to get an understanding from Sea Doo as to why they are there and can't get an answer.
    The dealerships don't know neither.

I HATE OEM REPLACEMENT PARTS!!!! Talk about got me by the balls.

Just a guess but does the oem wakeboard tower fold down backwards?? If so it could be so it does not rub.

I tried doing the tower back like pwgsx said and no it does not even come close to touching those bumpers. No the engine cover (hatch) opens up and has struts to hold it open.

I am still wondering what they are for as well.
