    1997 Polaris SLT 780......carbuerator idle adjustment/throttle adjustment

    Hello greenhulk associates. I need help with my 1996 Polaris SLT 780. I know the tittle says 97, but I ment to post 1996. Ok so I start it up and runs fine. I feel that I might be able to get more out of this engine by adjusting the idle or adjusting the throttle. Has anyone ran into this obsticle before? Anyone know anything about this carb idle?     Please provide more detail when you say "get more out of this engine". What exactly are your complaints and what are you trying to accomplish?

    Higher rpm

    Well the Idle RPM's are good, but when I go full throttle my RPM's are weak and are not at full potential.

    What RPM are you getting? According to factory specs you should be around 6350 RPM with a stock setup.

    Adjusting the idle isn't going to gain your WOT any more RPM.

    If your carbs are in sync, and open all the way, then adjusting the linkage isn't going to do anything either.

    Have you done all of the recommended fuel upgrades?

    Fuel Line?

    I have another question, I was checking the fuel lines, sbd I see a short line with a niple and seems that it doesn't go anywhere. The oil tank has the same exact niple. What is this and where do they go?

    Those are vents. They allow air to enter the tank as the fuel and oil are consumed to prevent a vacuum from forming in the tanks. They should not be attached to anything....
