    sl700 lake test problems

i just rebuilt a 1996 sl700 and i took it to the lake and started it up and let it idle for about ten minutes and i noticed it was getting a little warm but not to hot so i took it out and within 5minutes i hear a loud beeeeeeeep!!!!! coming from the handle bars and im guessing thats the warnig that it too hot so i tookit in and checked all the line and i cant figure out why this is happaning

second issue is it is hard to steer i cant steer unless i back off the throttle.

The beeeepp I do believe would be you're oil buzzer. Can't help on the steering.

Warnings are installed for a reason. The sensor when overheated will close grounding the ebox and setting off an alarm. The sensor is not likely bad. I would not continue to run until you figure out the problem. You should check all of the cooling passages from the small pickup screen in the jet pump to the thermostat in the water rail to ensure proper flow / operation of tstat.......
