    New prop prob

    I just got my new prop in and im trying to get the stocker off and this bitch will not budge.I have the shaft spindles in a vice with the shaft tool on the spindles.A Big box wrench with a pipe on the prop and I cant get this thing to move.I know its reverse threads.Can anyone let me know if its usually this tuff,and any pointers would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.

    Ive had good luck by applying heat. Gradually of coarse.
    They can be a bugger sometimes.

    +1.I used a 6 foot metal pipe. Still took me using all my weight to get the prop off.

    Thanks for the feedback.I didnt want to over do it,but I guess Ill just have to show it whos boss.

    took all my weight jumping on the wrench to break it loose, even stripped out a ratchet head once good luck !!!!!!

    I ripped the vise off of my work bench, gave up then took it to the local shop... it took two people to remove the prop, now it is scrap metal!

    I have used a vise in the past, but, more recently I have found it easier to use a hex box wrench on the pump end with a four ft pipe. On the other end I use a 36" crescent wrench. It is all done on the garage floor. It is actually easier than using the vise. When you get the pipe at approx a 30 degree angle off the floor you can get an huge moment on it.

    I have a huge bench vice bolted to a 400lb steel bench.If that rips off im in trouble.
