Taking jet pump apart what this on the wear ring?

It looks like some kind of gray assembly glue on the wear ring. Is there any special coating on the wear ring I need to be aware of before attempting to remove whatever this is?

    Any ideas on removing it?

Oh and I broke one of these tabs trying to separate the jet pump pieces. Any risk here?

There's appears to be that same grey glue in between the jet pump sections. Does this need to be replaced when reassembling?

    Thanks!

Ware ring should be ok with broken off pry tab. Gray stuff is sealer yamaha uses fron the factory. It's called Yamabond #4, Cleans up with spray carb cleaner/ rags and a lot of elbow grease. Re seal with a good gasket sealer when re assembling.

thats yamabond 4, same as hondabond 4

you can use either of those or 4200fast cure or 5200 fc. to glue the wear ring to the transom... I dont use anything for the pump or nozzle... makes it easier to remove for maintenance

    some folks use RTV there

yes, clean the old stuff with a wire wheel, and make sure the surfaces are flat

that will work fine without the tab, it just makes it hard to remove the pump without it

I still got a couple of the 2 strokes left just in case my 4 stroke quits. Tommy Jordan
