Some Plasti-Dip action....
went on a rage against all of the Grey Trim on my Ski this weekend with some spray cans of Plasti-Dip ... It works pretty good, took me a couple tries to get a method down but if you mess it up you can just peel it off -- Have to run it to see how well it holds up to the water pressure.
Did the Grab Bar, Rub Rails, Front and Read Plastic caps and the Chrome hood vent... the Black PlastiDip looks awesome on the chrome base with just one coat, king of a black chrome look. I threw on a couple more coats to finish her off.
I could not for the life of me get the handlebar cover off... I felt like I was strippin the hardware way easy and the bolts did not want to budge.. Have to work on that some more this week.. What do I need to do to put Oversized ATV Bars on this thing?
Just ordered a Black Jettrim Seat Cover this morning so that will finish off the Grey there!

Looks great. I love the stuff on my mini. Not much use on my kawi though, there just isn't any trim.

cougar, whats the difference between plasti-dip and that krylon fusion for plastics? did you happen to try any others? i have been thinking about painting some trim black... i also added a couple more bolts to the grab handle, it was a little too flexible for my liking.

How many cans did you need for that lot? Thinking I might get some for the grip handle on my gpr. Would 1 can be enough?

The Plasti-Dip is a Rubber/Plastic coating .. So completely different from the Krylon, which is paint with an adhesive promoter build into it so it sticks to plastic and remains somewhat flexible. You can peel this stuff off if you don't like it with just your hands and the material underneath is still as good as new. With Spray paint it would take an act of god to get it off. I messed up the back peice peeled it off and did it again... No problemo
I used a little over 3 cans including doing some stuff twice... I soon learned the best way to do it was to mask, hit it with 2 quick coats, then take the tape off after it sits for about 5 mins, then repeat as needed (I did 2 coats like this on the rails & put about 4 solid coats on the parts you can remove) ... any longer than that and it will start to peel off the whole part. The grab bar came out the best, I gave it a good indian burn and it feels solid. I went back over the rails using a straight edge and touched it up.
Damn seat cover is not in stock -- 2 Weeks out from Jettrim
