01 Seadoo GTi speed help.
Bought a great running ski for the family, but is just a tad bit too slow. Would like to get maybe a few more mph out of the 717 engine? Searched and might have missed it. Don't want to go crazy with engine internal mods, just simple bolt ons. Could I do the dual carbs with rejetts and maybe the pipe to get more power to spin a better impeller? Any idea in pitch? Will an aftermarket grate help any it is there a cut plate for the ski?

Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it.
IMHO try a different impeller for bottom end pull and an intake grate to keep it hooked up in the chop and that's about it. Any money spent on carbs, pipes etc will give you more speed at the expense of reliability. You would get more bang for your buck by selling it and getting a similar 787 or 951 powered ski or even a newer 130 or 155 hp four stroke ski.

I already have a faster ski and that is the problem, but this is for the younger riders and just need it a little quicker seeing that we cruise around 40-50 and this is about top speed for the ski already. Ski runs great though. Will look into an impeller and intake grate. Any idea on ride plates as to shimming or filling holes? Speed mods or links anyone?
