    Quickest/Fastest Stock Yamaha?

My brother is kicking around buying a new ski and thinking about a Yamaha. Doesn't want to mod, just wants a good quick/fast ski. What's the quickest/fastest Yamaha model to buy? Thanks.

If he doesn't have any interest in mods then I think the VXR might be a good choice for him!

Naturally asperated, your looking at the VXR/VXS. If you want supercharged, The FZR/FZS or the Fx SHO.

Not aftermarket mods I mean, but quickest/fast stock. Is that the FZR?

I would say so. The VXR/s and even the FX HO are both fast, but if you want purely the fastest stock ski from yamaha I would say the FZ is the choice. Also, dont forget the different hulls on all three, that might be a deciding factor as well.

How do the hulls play into it on those three? None of them have a bucking problem or anything like that do they?

You MUST get an aftermarket grate for an FZR/FZS or you will eventually get pitched. I have seen where stock to very mild modded VXR's are running in the High 60's, my FZS went roughly 66 mph dead stock.

The FZR/FZS hull is larger and handles the chop better than the VXR which I have been told handles alot like the old GPR's.

I have 100hrs on my FZR in the ocean and on smooth lakes. It handles great in stock form in open water and on the lake. I rode a 1.8 n/a FX HO a few times last summer and it also handles the chop well, it feels bigger than the FZ but I think that has more to do with the lack of angled chines on the 2009-2011 FX HO (the 2012 has a 100% new hull which I havent tried).
