2011 VXR/VXS- recall for breakng nozzles

My dealership is replacing my plastic nozzle with a reinforced version this Friday.

Apparently Yamaha is offering to replace all the 2011 VXR/VXS nozzles free of charge, whether broken or not (mine is not). The new nozzle is plastic, but is "significantly reinforced". An offcial service bulletion will be sent out soon, but the dealerships have been notified, and ours has the parts in and ready to install under warranty.

I mentioned the check valve as a way to decrease water intrusion and was told they haven't had anyone report any issues, but would be happy to put a check valve in if I want one. Also got me in quick, one day turn around. Very nice customer service.

Nice work Duke! I have been keeping an eye on this part. @90 hours mine too is still intact, but if there is an upgraded part I will be talking to my Dealer too here in Los Angeles. JB

Confirmed on the West Coast too! Just heard back from my Dealer here in L.A. There are new Nozzles. I suppose we will eventually receive official letters from YAM about this. Ya, I put the one way check valve in mine; it's a cheap part and it is worth the piece of mind

Now does this matter if you bought a used VXR? Or is this for any VXR no matter how many hours? Is there any way we can receive a copy of this bulletin just in case some dealers are oblivious to it?
