    What type of GPS

    What type of GPS should i use to measure top speed and acceleration?

    One that measures MPH. Sorry couldnt help it.

    Etrex, Garmin all are good should be waterproof and floating would be nice.

    Sorry don't know of one that will do acccelration unless you can download the points on a track and you can see how long it took between different parts of the track on the computer.
    HOpefully someone else will explain this better.

    I use a Garmin Extrex Venture HC. Keep in mind, your GPS is only as good as where/ how you have it mounted. Check out RAM mounts... they are top of the line. Here's a thread about measuring acceleration: http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=163252
