Low top speed and oil in hull
I've added a d-plate, premix, wave eaters, jet works, primer, 13/19 Solas, aqua vein grate, stepped sponsons, ppk, and shimmed tabs. GPS today was 61.8 mph on glass. Prior to the grate ppk and prop I was at 58.4.
Zero cavitation now and she almost jumps out of the water. No performance issues at all except the low top speed.
When I was washing the ski post ride I found this in the bottom of the hull.
Not sure where it's coming from? Why is it grey if the oil I'm using is blue and premixed. Unless the engines dripping it from somewhere internal? Maybe it's left over from the mechanic switching it to premix (oil dripped from the lines as he pulled them?) I thought I cleaned it all out, maybe not?
Thanks in advance!

That top speed is not completely out of line with what I would expect with your mods on a 1200R. With some hull tuning, I would bet you could squeeze out another mph or two on top.
What ride plate are you using? Angle?
Also, how much are your tabs shimmed?
If you are using premix, I don't see how oil would accumulate from anything. I would guess that is left over from when he was switching you to premix.

Stock ride plate, no angle. I need to read up more on angling the ride plate.
I guess the Aqua Vein is more of a rough water grate so from what I've read that could knock off some top end speed as well. Trim tabs are shimmed a tenth. I just bought a tiny tach yesterday so my plan is to to take the shim out of the trim tabs and go back to the stock grate for testing purposes. I guess there's really no reason to run that grate on the river anyway. I'll tuck it away for those days at the lake. If I get over 7k on glass and 63 mph or so I'll be good with that I guess.
Honestly I don't care what the top speed is as long as it's where it's supposed to be.
I can't tell you how much I'm hoping that oil is in fact left over from the premix switch over. I dumped to bottles of purple power in there a couple weeks ago, guess I need to give it another shot.

Put the stock grate back on, took shim out of trim tabs. New speed was 63.9 mph on GPS at 7050-7100 rpm.
