i have just put some new riva washers on my charger and even with 2 shims i cannot get the slip any where near the 80-120 inlbs it should slip at
it seems to be slipping at 45 inlbs
the cog still has the oil grooves on it so it is not worn

9.5 is ok....for now, but will fall off some...How many hours on the charger???If not alot you may want to replace the worn OEM spring washers with new McMaster Carr washers.....Also you should have checked if the parts were indeed within spec while you had it apart,..

thanks for the help snoman i was going to order the spring washers also
i could get the slip up to 11 nm but that would involve me tightening up the nut at the end to over 22ftlbs would this be ok to set at about 27ftlbs
there is about 125hrs if i remember right
    cheers steve

    No problem Steve.

with 125 hours you should really seriously consider rebuilding the charger completely....The bearings are nearing their lifespan and if they let go you will be looking at a costly repair bill that can include a new engine if the bearings get into the pumps.....i wouldnt waste any more money trying to band aid the slip....get a full rebuild and you will be good to go....
