    tire/ fender clearance question

Im in the process of swapping out my rims and tires on my trailer for some that are an inch larger in diameter and slightly wider. im doing this because the load rating does not support my RXP and XP. So I raised the fenders an inch and have now have an inch clearance between the tire and fender. Is this acceptable or should I go for 2 inches?

it doesn't look like it ,but it has plenty of clearance. i cut my axle and sleeved it about 4'' wider and 1 '' lift spacer on the leaf springs.

I wish I could rim up my trailer! It looks like you have about 2" from the top of the tire to the inside of the fender?

1" is not enough. try for 2, and after a tow, look inside the fender to see if there are any skid marks from the tires, then you`ll know if it is making contact or not...
rooling down the road it might articulate 1" on flat surfaces, but hit a rise or low spot and it will bounce and articulate more... just my 2 cents.

Hey - THAT'S MY TRAILER! (You can tell because it rubbed with only 1/2" clearance before.)

im going to take it to my shop next weekend and put the axle under the spring instead of on top. it should give me a total of 3" clearance. i need to flip the beam over anyways as it has bowed and makeing my other rims and tires wear funny on the inside.
