So here is the story, got a 95 Speedster with the dual 657x's one engine is a brand new rebuild, less than 20 hours on it. I fully rebuilt both carbs, they we FULL of gum and gunk. Re-assembled everything and engines start great, fire right up. on land they can easily hit their rev limit... Once there is a load on the pumps (Boat is in the water) one will rev up but the other won't go above 3.5k... They seem to alternate so I don't think it is an internal issue, I am thinking fuel delivery. Old lines, gummed up cutoff switches, maybe a cracked baffle? Anybody have any experience in replacing the fuel system in these boats?
