Sorry, but I'm a bit confused here.....

Your title is CDI, but you're asking about a coil?

And it helps if you list what ski it is you're asking about as well.

the ski is a 99 sltx.i was looking at the cdi # to see if the # were the same which they are but the coil # are diff.i also dont know how that smilely face got in there but the 4060153 coil was in a 98 old style

I believe the firing order may be different between the two coils....which just means you've have to swap the plug or trigger wires....not a big deal.

I think all of the domestic 3 cylinder coils are interchangable. Im pretty sure the CDI controls firing order. Can someone else verify this?

there is a difference some of them you have to swap the two leads from the cdi to the coil mostly on the 96 900 motors but if someone swapped a crank at one time or put a 96 bottomend in your ski you can have the oddball crank in it

Yes,the 4060153 coil works the same as the 99 coil. But the #153 used a different style plug wire-so you would need to use the 98 and older style plug wires and resister plug boots.

The 98-99 CDI's were in the update years-you need to go by the actual part # installed in the e box
