Hmm, don't think that's meant to be there :|
Hmmm, who leaves there anchors out in the middle of the ocean? SERIOUSLY!!!
Sitting out near the shark nets, bout 500M from the shore and engine suddenly stops. iBR light comes on so though gate must have been stuck, tried override with no luck so jumped in and checked the grate, A BLOODY CHAIN AND ANCHOR!
Lifesavers came out to see whats happening and they had some pliers with them so I got the anchor off then had to tow through different river mouth so get home cause the one we went through had too much swell to tow through.
Finally got it home and got the grate off and hacked the rope until I could loosen the chain and get it out.
From what I could tell is only part of the rope went through the impeller cause the chain got too wide for the tunnel which is what stopped the motor cause I was only idling at the time it stopped.
It's running fine with no weird noises or anything just wondering if there is anything I should be checking? The only damage I could find was a bit of a chunk out of the fibreglass where the chain had dug in the stopped the motor but it isn't very bad.
WHY WOULD SOMEONE LEAVE AN ANCHOR AND ROPE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN! HOW BLOODY UNLUCKY AM I!

they were probably drunk and decided to cut it instead of pulling it in....
I had a similar thing happen many years ago....Somebody in a boat cut their anchor rope just below the surface of the water and I went buzzing over it since I didnt see it....Stopped the motor dead and i went flying over the handlebars!!!! I came up screaming and yelling about how some dumb ass fisherman left his rope behind( there was 2 guys in a boat about 50 yards away)....
