    Moving to Austin

I'll be moving to Austin in about 6 weeks and we plan to bring our Sea Doo GTX's with us. Any suggestions for where we should go for a ride? I see Lake Travis but I hear the water level is down. Does anyone have other suggestions that are close? We've never been there and are taking a job transfer.

Sweet...Austin is an awesome city.....I know people ride Lake Dunlap in New Braunfels which is 45 min south of Austin on I-35.....

You can get rid of that snow machine though....won't need it down here..

Lake Austin is cool, that water is cold as hell and there are some nice flat spots. We do most of our riding at Canyon Lake which is about 50 miles south of Austin.

Been to Lake Austin once. Awesome lake. It's actually a river, just happens to be damned on one end. last summer when there, you couldn't go all the way west to Lake Travis damn due to hydrilla/moss in water. A LOT. Would clog up a jet quick! But that's only one small part. It does get busy on wkends. with skiers/surfers. Water IS cold, but nice and clear. Also, the Ski Shores Cafe on the lake is very good.

Just came from travis this last weekend...lake is down and only on ramp open(Mansfeild Dam)...get there early cause overflow parking is about 1/4 mile uphill to park. Waves werent too bad and hippy hollow area (Nude Beach) was booming--just did a drive by ... we went and chilled at party cove across from carlos and charlies bar and grill... you will need a long rope cause the lake is very deep even a few feet off shore. Sunday we went to emma long city park in Lake Austin...hydrilia was down and lots of skis.... and ski boats... BTW look out for driving on the right side of Lake Austin. There is a correct side to drive on.... just like hwy ---stay to the right...
