    Clothing advice for Jet Skiing

Just incase anyone is as daft as me, just incase , anyway I took Ski out on the Sea for a quick run out, I wore all the correct clothing/safety equipment etc, but I put shorts on since I was only been quick. Bad idea... after I had got off it felt like someone has sand papered my thighs down where I was sat down, and it has caused a minor abrasion, legs have been sore and red raw since Sunday, okay now. I wont be doing that again, glad I learnt my lesson, I know why I wear a wetsuit now!
Just thought I would let the daft ones like me know

I'm going for my first time Saturday and in anticipation I purchased two wetsuits. One long and one short, both one piece suits. Water is still cold up here and even though it's going to be around 74 i'll wear the long suit. I also got wetsuit shoes to go along for grip.

I guess it all depends on the seat you have, I never had an issue and always wear shorts. I stand most of the time though.

I am with you, I like to stand. I did buy 3 pairs of boarding shorts, with an inner neoprene liner and a regular nylon shell. If I fall off at 70 I want my bungholio safe and dry. They are NOT comfortable, but they will save your ass (no pun intended) if you hit the water at high speed. They are also EXPENSIVE - I paid just under $70 for each pair but the benefits outweigh the potential disaster.

I wear wetsuit "shorts" under my trunks. After you wear them for a hour or so, you get used to them. There are a lot of places to get them but i got mine at www.wetsuitwarehouse.com. They are the largest wetsuit dealer in the US, had a great selection, and i bought several different sizes and sent back the ones that didnt fit. ( no affiliation to them--- just a happy customer)
