Would installing the OEM reboard step kit on my 2012 VXS be difficult on my own?

Purchased the 2012 VXR reboarding step assembly/kit for my 2012 VXS and trying to determine if i should take it to the dealer to install (they want almost $400), of if drilling into the hull and bolting everything up is a bit more easier than it appears?

Anyone who may have installed these steps have any suggestions?

$400 that's crazy......should be simple and straight forward.....hardest part is getting the stock exhaust system out of the way....

I don't see how that can be $400 in labor. Its probably like a 1.5hr job. Just a pain to get access from inside from what I can tell.

Was that for the 10 hour service? as it is a little more involved than just an oil change.....

Yeah Aqua that was for the initial 10 hour service. Seems to me to be one hellacious way to reel in more money from the customer, as if 10+ grand for the ski itself isn't enough lol

Yes it was for the 10 hour service, but accroding to my service manual, changing the oil, checking sparks, checking throttle cable, spraying some lube still doesn't justify (to me anyway) a $250 price tag.

That price really comes off to me as "We want to do the initial checkup on your Waverunner to make sure we put everything together correctley, but we are going to charge you to do it..."

I'd give out the name of the yama repair center who is charging the $400 install fee, however... they are also a dealership, and they did give me a good deal on my current waverunner... and I do plan on buying a 2013 FZR from them next year... so dont want to throw them under the bus just yet.

Take it back and try this

Looks like a good alternative to the skis that don't have a ladder.
