    Some FZR Questions

The search function is not being my friend, so I thought I would make a post.

This next winter I want to make a change. I have a few option floating around in my head....

    1. Sell the 1390BB GPR. Buy a FZR! (new or used)
    2. Sell the 1390BB GPR. Buy a RXPX! (Boooooooooooo)
    2. Sell the GPR internals and go 4 stroke conversion (Yamaha S/C or Seadoo S/C)

I see some major plusses in just buying a FZR such as reliability and usability. So in prelude to this I have a few questions.

    1. What is the maintenance like?

    2. What is the round about cost to make it a high 70mph or 80mph ski?

    3. Does modifying it to that level make it unreliable in anyway?

    4. Are there any inherent issues with the FZR from the factor such as hull problems, loose fittings, etc?

    5. What would be a good new price (without trailer)?

    6. What would be a good used price (with or without trailer)?

    1. What is the maintenance like? same as gpr but add an oil and filter change every 50 hours

    2. What is the round about cost to make it a high 70mph or 80mph ski? in Aus one of our dealers will get you to 80 mph with factory warrenty for $5,000

    3. Does modifying it to that level make it unreliable in anyway? depending on how much boost you add and the way you ride
the clutch can be an issue, and becomes more so with more boost

    4. Are there any inherent issues with the FZR from the factor such as hull problems, loose fittings, etc? intake grate should be changed and pump tunnel should be reinforced also

    5. What would be a good new price (without trailer)?

    6. What would be a good used price (with or without trailer)?

I own both a '09 FZS and '12 RXP-X. They are very different animals. I have 160 hours of salt water use on the FZS and have not touched a bolt on it (other than for maintenance). I only have 4 hours on my RXP so I can't comment on the reliability but it is much more fun to drive than the FZS. A person could talk all day long about the way a machine feels but I can summarize by saying with the FZS you feel like you're working just to stay on it. With the RXP you feel like you're a part of the machine. The way it turns is telepathic.
