2005 f12x on gps today, all stock

Today I found enough smooth water on Travis to check my speed via GPS. The ski ran 58.4 mph on the GPS, with the speedometer showing about 63mph. Can someone confirm that this is about right for a stock f12x turbo?

That's pretty good. My speedo only registers 58mph max at the fastest point I have had it. I will have to try out the gps and see.

I have to ask... Why are the Hondas so slow on top? Do they just weigh a ton or does the motor not make much power? You would think a Turbo 4 banger would scoot!

Its the hull it dont defuze the water enough(it has too much wet surface) bottom of if hull is like a missle its cylinder shaped with no channels or groves to cause cavitation under the hull to reduce drag

Only 165 H.P. and low boost. Poor intake (grate to pump) also but it just does not have much hp.

But it's a good reliable motor. A good recreational cruiser.

How does it compare to your STX12?

Agreed, you'll be a little slower up top. Maybe slightly better holeshot/acceleration, but nothing up top on a 17/29 in stock form. The 18/30 will be a little faster up top but it will take some mods to turn it effectively.
