    Dedicated line for intercooler

I have the 1/2 through hall fitting coming. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do I need tubing that is 1/2 inch inside or 1/2 outside diameter?

    Thanks

Use a good quality re enforced high pressure hose with a inside dia. of 1/2 inch. Don't forget to get some good quality stainless hose clamps the correct size for the hose also. Tommy Jordan

Another dumb question but what size bit should we be using to drill the thru-hull fitting? Mine is going in this week as well!

5/8", be careful if using a step drill bit. The hull is thick there and the next size up can easily start cutting into hull. Riva's instructions for this are good too, even if you're using a different IC. http://www.rivaracing.com/instructions/ry17040_pc.pdf

Are all the cooling lines 1/2 inch on the FX SHO? Or are some back to 3/8 inch for the engine cooling once the line splits?
Just looking to run dedicated cooling line for intercooler and upgrade engine hoses.
    Cheers

Thanks those Riva instructions are pretty helpful! I'm not sure about where they drilled the hull for the thru-hull fitting though on the FZR though, I have heard there's a good spot on the transom for that instead. I'll have to look close and see.

You should prob have a profesional do the compelte install, if you are not sure of what size hose the rest of the install will be very difficult. Drilling a hole in the hull is important. If you are uping the rpm's, adding a aftermarket IC there will be other procedures that will need to be done so you dont over cool and under cool certain parts of the engine. gas in oil can cause lots of headaches.

Thank you for the advice (which I take seriously) but I finished the install last night, followed the instructions on Rivas site. What I didn't understand is why the stock exit location for the intercooler isn't used. I know the stock lines are larger, so how is everyone who isn't running a dedicated line adapting the connections?

    Thanks Again

I plan on teeing off on the exit and running a second waterline pisser.

That's how I did mine. I used all AN pushlok hose and a bulkhead fitting.
