Kawasaki 15F, What is needed to beat a Seadoo Rx Carb or DI

Buddy and I just picked up a stock 15f. was wondering what is need to beat it?

We are picking up the ski today.

    Seems from research:
Skat Prop 13/19 all around vs 14/21 top end...
    r&d ride plate
    Air filter kit
    2nd water box delete..

If we had to do one thing, which would you recommend to beat a rx? has anyone ran against an RX carb or Di

If every thing is right with the ski, you should be 61-62 mph stock.....all the usual mods will get you to 65-66 mph....ride plate, intake, exhaust, prop.......etc....no idea what the seadoo runs....if it will even run......

An RX runs 60 mph. You should have a very slight edge stock for stock. With the Riva kit you'd waste him.

The 2 biggest gains for the 15F are the R&D ride plate & the R&D flame arrestor/air filter, those 2 should give you 4 mph increase, if your impeller is in good condition leave it, I put in the Solas 13/19 because mine was severly damaged. I tried the 14/21 that Riva recommends, but got better top speed & acceleration with the 13/19, the 14/21 pulled rpms down too much.

    Thanks for the Tip guys.

Got the ski last night everything seems good on the ski did compression check but i didnt pull the throttle all the way back (forgot to do it) compression readings with the throttle closed were 185 cylinder 2-4... cylinder one was pushing 210...

I will redo the compression check when i get home.. ski starts right up idles nice.

I think we will go with the ride plate first. is there any way to make your own intake? seems a little pricey for just a filter.

Check out shredmaster ride plates they are liitle bit pricier but you'll have a grin everytime you pull that throttle.

Just be sure to fit everything together as well as you can. Set the impeller gap right, fit the ride plate close but tucked up a little into the hull, seal the plate and sharpen the grate and remove the center bar. Pull the secondary water box and fit an intake. Just make sure no part is sloppily fitted.

Does removing the center bar make that big of a difference? How much does it reduce the grates ability to keep things from getting sucked up with the center bar gone?

It makes a fairly big difference ~1-2 MPH. And not a huge difference in protection.
