Should the TOPS solenoid be really hot??

    2005 RXT

Took my first ride tonight after rebuild (first ride ever on a 215HP machine.) After the ride, I was checking to make sure the TOPS is opening and I can feel it open up slowly when I put the key on, and hear it close a few seconds after pulling the key. I noticed the solenoid was hot (too hot to touch for more than a couple seconds), should it be that hot? At the time, the engine was still plenty hot as it was only about 30 minutes after I had it out on the water.

    Thanks,
    Greg

Yes it will be hot as it's attached to the engine. Heat soak!
