HELP! SKI Running Very bad. 2003 GTX with some mods.
I had multiple problems with my ski today. So I drove it about 4-5 miles to a beach it was running rich so I pulled up to the beach to adjust my RRFPR to a lower setting to get the afr a little higher. When I pulled the seat I seen all the water and traced that down to the carbon seal not pushed up to the hat. any way we pulled the ski up onto the beach to drain the ski figuring we would drain it and make a quick run back to the trailer. about 1/2 mile on the way back it started running ruff and then the oil light came on and it quit. i had to get it to the side so I refired it and drove to the side. towed it back rather quickly trailered it home pulled the spark plugs intake boot even checked the intake, ect.. expecting to see water but nothing.
Put it all back together and it runs but it starts kind of hard now and it runs with a on and off vibration now.
we checked the oil before going it was right at the half way mark. checked it when we got back and it was barely on the stick so I added some.
The intake looked like it has a slight coat of oil on the walls.
Any ideas why its doing this? I can figure out the carbon seal but why is the engine running ruff?
its a 2003 GTX 185 with external intercooler, rrfpr, afr gauge, bigger prop and driveshaft, 215 flywheel and charger with green wheel and spark arrestor removed.
On the way down to the beach it did has 1 maybe 2 misses in the engine I was thinking it was due to running rich.
Thanks for the help

I would say the plugs are fouled.

Sounds like you need to check compression. Do you have a catch can or is the breather going to the intake still?

If you have a catch can make sure the hose isn't crimped

i was going to try and do a compression test but could not get my tester to screw into the holes. I will try again tomorrow.

also it still seems to be running very rich according to the afr gauge.
I briefly turned the fuel pressure down to 30 psi at idle and that only got the afr to 13 ish
Turn it back up to 45-50 and its 10 to 11 ish.
On the first run down the the beach it was running 11 ish in the lower rpm and 10 in the higher rpms very rich, thats why i stopped to try to lean it out some.

really no help at all??
I picked up a compression tester on the way home rear pto was at 130psi other 2 at 122psi
auto parts store had no spark plugs.
I also pulled the oil filter to look for metal did not find any.
Where do I go from here??
I have my brother in law coming over to loan me some plugs.
