Question about running in water for first time

Hey everyone im new to the jetski scene. My 94 701 raider has the hose attached so I can run it on my garden hose. Now, when I take it down and put it in the water, do I need to remove the hose and plug the hole or? If so what do I plug it with?

yes plug it off.. flush kits normally come with a cap for this..go to the hardwear and get a hose cap (internal standard garden hose thread)

Ok so just leave the hose on and cap the hose?

If you're talking about a hose like this, then no. Leave it off.

the hose assembly cutlass is showing is a quick release version that once removed should still have a safety cap on the hull mounted fitting..if its of the earlyer style that has a clamp on a barb fitting screwed to the engine , you will need a cap as I mentioned above.. alternatively, take it off and plug the hole, yet this would not make flushing very easy especially if you run salt ,silty or dirty water and have need to do it every run!!

I have the older style with a barved fitting and a hose clamped on it. So I can just leave the hose on and plug it or should I remove the barbed fitting and plug right where the barbed fitting is?

leave the hose, get the plug for the end...any good hardwear store should be able to sell you one..
