    04 RXP 215 with a few questions

A couple weeks ago I sucked up a rock which ruined the wear ring. When they put the new wear ring in the tech said the impeller only had a few minor nicks, he didn't think it should affect performance any. But ever since the new wear ring was installed, it doesn't have the thrust it used to. It now hits the rev limiter at full throttle and the top speed, without hitting the rev limiter, is down to 65-67 mph. Which was around 73 before. It has a solas stainless impeller, but im not sure of the pitch. The tech said they could take it out and try to repair the impeller to see if thats the problem. But that would cost at least $250. My question is, should I try to repair the impeller, should I replace it? Any other suggestions on what I should try? Thanks for any help.

It has 103 hrs, rebuilt supercharger with riva washers, speedfreaks cold air kit, solas stainless steel impeller, riva pro block offs, riva exhaust and intake grate.

For that price your better off having a new prop installed.

When you sucked up the rock did it stop the engine instantly? The rock may have bent the impeller blades causing this.

You can get a prop for 250 but you would still need to pay to have it installed.
Sounds like your tech didn't know what he was doing if he installed a prop that had issues.
It'd say find a more experienced tech.
You can file down the rough edges on the prop.

Thats kinda what I though too. I shut the engine off as soon as I heard it suck up the rock. I need to figure out what pitch impeller i need to get. Any suggestions on this?

I don't think he knows what he's doing either. I just took it to the seadoo dealer, because I needed it done quickly, but it didn't work out too well.

Find a good deal on a solas prop and buy the prop tools and do it your self and save the money for mods!!

I think a 14/17r is recommended for a stock rxp 215. But double check that first.

If you change the prop your self make sure to get it tight (95+ ft lbs) or it might unscrew from the pump bearing and blow your engine out.

Don't ask how I know. (I'm shopping for a engine now)

    Ouch, sorry to hear that.

Yeah I'd rather pay someone who will warranty their work. Than try to save $150 by installing it myself and end up needing an engine

Should be stamped on the prop. Speedfreeks or impros can fix and true the prop. They aren't hard to swap out if you have the right tools
