RXP-X 2012 Fuel Level Sending Unit Repair
I starting getting erratic fuel level readings. The gauge reading dropped and I knew my level was higher. Turn the ski on then off and it would work for a little while longer. Then I started to get no readings and a fault sensor message on my dash. I was pretty sure it was the variable resistor in the tank.
So I pulled it. What I found is it was indeed the sensor but I thought the pivot point of the resistor was sloppy. What I found was the the 2 arms weren't making good contact. I took the sensor the rest of the way apart and bent the 2 metal arms.
What I recognized is the arms aren't the right kind of metal, it is suppose to be spring steel like, so it maintains good pressure on the resistor pad. These arms bent like regular thin flat metal. No springieness to it. If anyone has access to Seadoo engineers please forward these findings.
The reason I fixed it under warranty is I live 3.5 hours from Riva where I bought the ski, so if I can fix it I do.

Yes, it reads now, do not know how long it will last with that metal. If it stops working again then it is definitely the wrong type of metal on the contact arms.

Tested in crazy rough water yesterday not a hitch, worked flawlessly!
