What bearings and gaskets should I use for engine rebuild? Where to buy?
I'm trying to figure out cost for rebuilding my 4 tec and was wondering where is the best place to buy gasket set, bolts, bearings, oil pumps ect...
Also was wondering can a machine shop fix a block and crank that had thrust washer failure?
When the crank got hot from bearing failure dose than weaken the metal? another words if I had the crank machined back into spec the true would it still be as good as new?

Better post pics. Use oem gaskets and bearings.

$60 for rod bearings
$112 for main bearings
$18 thrust washers crank
$12 thrust washer balance shaft
$56 balance shaft bearings
$xxx arp rod bolts
$xxx arp main bolts
$200 arp head bolts
$640 forged pistons
$530 valves as mine are probably the bad ones (exhaust)
$xxx what i pay for block crank ect...

I had similar problems,i spend around $ 6000 total to get everything fixed.
This included a used crankshaft,head and camshaft,otherwise it would have been even worse.
Tested it today.it ran on the trailer.(after startting it in drowning mode several times,and removed the camcover to be sure i had oil pumping around,never start without doing this after a rebuild.
This week gonna do the test ride and running in of the new rebuild engine.

your in a tuff spot because the most valuable thing is the engine and thats in bad shape. i would search for a short block from a 04-05 rxp or t or even a another 185 and pick up some used rxp/t forged pistons. you put a lot of work in it to just part it out. ive got some left over bearings some rod, crank and thrust could dull some of the pain if you do rebuild let me know.
