    SL 750 throttle cable problem

Last year I broke the plastic thumb throttle and I replaced it today with an aluminum black trigger throttle. The problem that I'm running into is I now have too much slack in the cable. Ive adjusted as far as I can adjust it at the trigger and I noticed at the throttle itself its as far as it can go. Is there any way I can make the cable any tighter somehow? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Tie a knot in the cable.

I have mine as close the carb "drum" so it doesn't stop the carbs from opening all the way.
