    70mph stock RXT 260?

I've been reading that for a stock ski to get into the 70+ zone aftermarket mods need to be used and that the Coast Guard has set a limit of 68 for manufacturers. If so, how did my ski hit 70 this weekend? It's at the 6 hour mark. Riding double when it had 4 hours on it gave me 68.

because you're reading the stock speedometer which is not accurate and reads faster than your going by 1-3 mph get a good gps for accurate numbers

Do you have a 2012 RS model? If so your not limitrd like the US machines. The new speedos are pretty accurate.

It's a 2012 U.S. machine. Show's a GPS lock - if it says it's doin 70 it's good enough for me. So am I hearing you guys right that in order to get an accurate reading I have to go after market - then add mods to get what it is showing me now?

haha. No thanks. I'll stick with the speedo I have and tell all my friends it does 70. They won't know the diff and it doesn't cost me anything extra.

The new 2012 speedos are gps enabled which means they are more accurate then past models. They have been known to only be off .3 +/-, so your prob going 69/70 which is really good for a us model. Wait till its fully broken in at 10 and see what its doing. Whats your max rpms?

I saw 72mph on my X 260 dash stock in early 2010, now I see 82-83 mph indicated on dash while only doing 81-81.4 gps.

The dash speed is rounded UP 0.5 to 1.5 mph consistently.
